Sound Transit – Upcoming Construction Management Opportunities

Sound Transit recently announced plans to move forward on the East Link light rail project.  The Sound Transit Board approved an East Link route on July 28th that includes a tunnel through downtown Bellevue.  Construction is planned to start on the 14-mile project in 2015 or 2016.

Please join us to hear about all the exciting progress on Sound Transit’s construction program and upcoming opportunities for construction management.  We are pleased to have Don Davis, Deputy Executive Director for Project Management and Construction Management with Sound Transit return to give us an update.  Don has been working on large infrastructure projects in the Puget Sound region for over 30 years.  Don worked for Metro/King County, creating their first project controls group and managing projects for their first billion dollar capital program. He was Project Director for the Harborview Hospital west wing expansion from 1993 to 1998.  Following Harborview, Don left King County and worked for a number of consulting firms, primarily involved in construction management on large infrastructure projects in this area.

Don oversees construction management efforts for all work on Sound Transit’s ST2 program that was approved by the voters in 2008.  Don will update us on the next round of Sound Transit projects, the timing of those projects and the opportunities that will be available for construction managers.
